De f\u00f8rste som blir konfrontert med dette spranget som er s\u00e5 svimlende \u00e5 forholde seg til for mennesker, er Josef og Maria.Frelsesverket har aldri blitt banalisert og fremstilt som noe enkelt, lettgripelig. Kirken har da ogs\u00e5 kalt Kristi komme til jord for \u00abmysterion (\u03bc\u03c5\u03c3\u03c4\u03ae\u03c1\u03b9\u03bf\u03bd)\u00bb, et gresk ord som viser til det som er skjult, og som er opphavet til det vi i dag kaller sakramenter.
